Every working girl (and guy) should have one...
Good for cooking rice, fish, puddings, stews, soups... you can even make bread in it! I use mine for soups and stews mainly... don't know if I'd like to bake in it however!
For stew:
- Brown the stew on the '15 minutes heat up' option (perfect for browning the meat and getting all the excess fat out of it)!
- Next, drain the meat of any excess fat.
- Toss in a couple of chopped onions, carrots and a little turnip.
- Pour over enough hot boiled water (from the kettle) to cover the meat and vegetables (and no more).
- Choose the 'stew / soup' option and set the timer to cook for 3 hours 30 min's and the stew will cook beautifully succulent.
Now you can just forget about it in the meantime and get on with your housework, etc without having to keep checking on it or stirring it. It's bril! One of the best kitchen 'gadgets' I've ever purchased - and definitely well used. So many gadgets either end up in the bin or at the back of a cupboard somewhere but not this one!
